Commitment Ceremonies (not a legal marriage)
A commitment ceremony is the perfect way for any couple to declare their love for, and commitment to, each other. Commitment ceremonies are not legally binding and as a celebrant I am bound to advise all present that it is not a legal marriage. Why is a commitment ceremony not a legal marriage? Because there is no legal declaration or legal documents. Your commitment ceremony can be as intimate as you want with just the two of you, and myself, or as detailed and elaborate as you like, formal or informal! Renewal of Vows / Reaffirmation
A Renewal of Vows is a special way to reaffirm your commitment to each other. These ceremonies can include family and friends and even original members of your bridal party, or it could be just the two of you. In this ceremony, you are confirming your commitment to each other and may repeat your original wedding vows or we can prepare new special vows. This is not a legal ceremony and the content will be personalised to suit the two of you. A Renewal of Vows can also be celebrated by couples who have already had a legal marriage (perhaps overseas) and would like to share a celebration of this special occasion with family and friends. In these circumstances, I am legally obliged to make it clear to your guests that they are not witnessing a legal marriage ceremony and any invitations sent to guests must not state that it is a wedding ceremony For more information about renewal of vows ceremonies, please contact me! |
